A breaking and entering resulted in the shots on East Water, Saturday.
Shots fired at an East Water Street residence, Saturday, were in response to a breaking and entering.
Chillicothe Police were called to 336 East Water Street just prior to 7am. The resident said someone broke into his garage using bolt cutters, and the alarm had been set off.
The resident, who had a revolver, went to the garage, kicked the door open, and held the intruder at gun point. He said the intruder pushed past him, causing the resident to lose his footing and fire the weapon into the ground.
The intruder, described as a white male, 5'10", 180 lbs, with a light brown goatee, red shirt, red cap, and shorts, ran away.
Prior to fleeing, the intruder dropped a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver. A vehicle was also found parked behind the garage. Keys were in the ignition and bolt cutters were on the rear passenger floorboard.
There were no reported injuries.
