The 9th Annual Heroes’ Event will be held on May 18th at the Tabernacle Baptist Church Life Center.
The First Capital District Chapter of the American Red Cross has selected its local heroes to be honored at a May 18th Banquet:
Karen McDonald Myers will be honored as the Community Hero; the Hope Clinic will receive the Health Care Hero Award; the Southern Ohio Survivors will receive the Group Award; Rick Hatton is the veteran hero; Virgil Flannery is the Public Safety Hero; Delbert and Doris Doles will be presented with the Senior Hero Award; Park Officer Paul Lallier is the Workplace Hero; Sam Calvin is the Youth Hero; Chas and Tracy Kottenbrook will be honored with a Special Recognition Award; The final Special Recognition Award goes to Herbert and Bettie Friedman for their donation of a building on N. Bridge St. to the Red Cross; and the 6th Annual Ruby Flynn Award goes to Sharon Flannery.
The 9th Annual Heroes’ Event will be held on May 18th at the Tabernacle Baptist Church Life Center. Mr. Garin Veris will be the Keynote Speaker. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the dinner starts at 6:00PM.
