Six local students get awards
The Gates Foundation Scholarship's were awarded Wednesday afternoon. Larry Gates who founded the scholarship awards has given over 100 local students scholarship's in the past 9 years.
Six graduating seniors who received the scholarship's this year included:
Three students from Zane Trace: Brandon Cox, Abby Merritt and Kelsey Dunkle.
Three from Chillicothe High School: Katelyn Anderson, Colleen Fitzgerald and Charles Violette.
Six more students who were already attending college had their scholarship's renewed for the upcoming school year.
Andrea McLean who attends the Franciscan University of Stuebenville. Derek Merriman Ohio University. Casey Oats and Victoria Skinner attending the Ohio University Chillicothe. Emilee Ortman Miami University. Tyler Van Buskirk who's attending Wright State University.
