The Pickaway County jury will return to deliberations in the aggravated murder trial Monday.
A verdict in the Aggravated Murder trial of Brent Cox will have to wait until Monday. No verdict had been reached by 5:20pm Friday, so Pickaway County Common Pleas Judge Randal Knece sent the jury home for the weekend and ordered them back into deliberations 9am Monday.
In closing arguments Friday morning, prosecution contended that their evidence is solid, pointing to the confession of Don Shepard who fingered Cox as the actual trigger-man in the fatal shooting of Rodney Metcalf last October 12th.
The defense argued that the prosecution didn't collect all the evidence, and that Shepard accused Brent Cox to take the heat off himself.
