A man is being sought for the assault of a 4-year-old boy.
A Chillicothe man is being investigated for the assault of a four-year-old child. On Tuesday, the boy's mother took him to Adena Regional Medical Center after he complained of lower jaw pain and had facial swelling. He was diagnosed with jaw fractures and was transferred to a Columbus hospital for surgical repairs.
The child said his mother's boyfriend, 32-year-old Douglas Johnson, on Sunday, became mad that the child vomited, put him in the shower, and used his hand to strike the child's jaw, causing him to fall and hit his head on a shampoo bottle.
The child's mother was not home at the time and said he did not show any signs of injury when she returned that night.
A warrant of felonious assault has been issued for Johnson, and the case will be presented to the Ross County Grand Jury.
Authorities contacted Johnson via telephone on Wednesday; however, they were not able to locate his whereabouts.
