Joseph Steele is one of 17 indictments.
The Ross County Grand Jury handed down 17 indictments with 6 of them being open Friday.
34-year-old Joseph M. Steele of Black Run Road, was indicted on a Fifth Degree Felony of Breaking and Entering, stemming from a June 6th incident were he was caught breaking into a shed on East 2nd Street just after midnight.
Steele was followed by a neighbor and witness to the robbery Gavin Campos, who chased Steele and an unknown accomplice on a bicycle. Campos called the Police who were able to catch Steele.
All the items Steele attempted to take were recovered within 50 yards of the owners property. They included a lawn chair, croquet set, golf bag with clubs, battery charger, air compression, and lawn mower,
The second suspect in the incident was never identified.
The Grand Jury indicted 35 year-old Heath Downs was on a Second Degree Felony of Felonious Assault.
The charges are stemming from an incident at Wagner's Bar where 35-year-old Jermain Brandon of Chillicothe was stabbed in the neck.
Brandon was lifted to OSU Hospital to under go emergency surgery for a tracheal laceration.
Brandon had been in the bar with his girlfriend when they began arguing. He walked out of the bar and was followed by three men including Downs. The men preceded to punch and kicked Brandon who fell to the ground where Downs stabbed him.
The other two men in the group with Downs were not charged.
