The chase occurred near the bike path bridge in Chillicothe, Saturday.

A Ross County Sheriff's Deputy was injured during a foot chase with a man fleeing arrest. Just after 7 a.m., Saturday, Deputy Jason Gallagher was sent to check on a man lying on the bike path bridge over High Street. The deputy found that 44-year-old Martin Goble, of Chillicothe, had a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear.

The deputy said when he tried to arrest Goble, Goble pulled away and jumped from the side wall of the bike path bridge and fled to the eastbound offramp to State Route 35.

The deputy also jumped from the side wall and gave chase; however, another officer caught Goble, who was arrested for the warrant and charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

Deputy Gallagher was taken to Adena Medical Center for an injury to his lower back.
