US 50 Closed After Three Vehicle Crash

The Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle injury crash that occurred on US 50.

The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three car injury crash that occurred at 11:40am Sunday. 71-year-old Stephen Compher of Oxford, PA was driving eastbound on U.S. Route 50 at Blain Highway and had stopped to make a left hand turn into a private drive.

30-year-old Melissa Rumer of South Salem was stopped behind him when the vehicle driven by 20-year-old Katelyn Smith of Bainbridge struck Rumer’s vehicle in the rear which forced Rumer to strike Compher.

 All three drivers were transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Smith was cited for Failure to maintain an Assured Clear Distance Ahead.

Traffic on U.S. Route 50 was stopped in both directions for approximately an hour.
