The lonesome wail of a train was expected sometime Monday night

Keep your eyes and ears open for a steam locomotive coming through the Scioto Valley.

The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society is running its 400-ton "goodwill ambassador," the 1944 Nickel Plate locomotive no. 765, from Toledo to Portsmouth.

There's no posted schedule, but it should come southbound late Monday on the Norfolk Southern.

You can track it on the website of the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society

It may be coming back through August 6th.
