Authorities say a man was caught after he broke into a Bourneville garage.
An intruder was caught in his tracks, early Tuesday morning. Ross County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to burglary in progress at a Keran Street home in Bourneville at 1:43 a.m. The resident told authorities she was inside when she saw the motion light on her garage turn on and a man enter the garage.
She told authorities she yelled for him to come out, and another person at the home was able to keep the intruder from leaving until authorities arrived.
According to the Sheriff's report, the subject, Benjamin Shaw, told authorities he went into the garage because he needed gasoline for his vehicle, which had broken down. He stated he knew a relative of the homeowner, someone told him it was OK, and that he had knocked on the resident's home door before going into the garage, though the resident said this was untrue.
Shaw was arrested for breaking and entering, and his vehicle was towed.
