The PUCO has approved the plan that sets a cap on increases at 12-percent through May 2015.
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) has approved a revised rate plan for AEP-Ohio that runs through May 31, 2015. It calls for increases of 5-7 percent in the first year, but then rates will vary for the remainder of the plan. In addition, it establishes that no AEP-Ohio customer will see an increase over 12 percent during the entire 3-year period.
PUCO reps say the plan was made in an effort to spread rate increases more evenly among customers.
