The new building would connect Shoemaker Center with Stevenson Center and Bennett Hall
A capital campaign is underway for Ohio University-Chillicothe, that hopes to raise $3.5 million for scholarships and capital improvements.
Joyce Atwood says the OU branch wants to build a connector between Stevenson Center and Bennett Hall, that would extend to Shoemaker Center.
Atwood says the current student center area is too small, as more than 1,200 students go through that area each day.
This new Academic Achievement Center would also include a lecture hall for university and public use. Architectural renderings of the connector will be unveiled this October.
