Frankfort's Strongest Man Contest.
The International Sunflower Festival is slated for September 1st and 2nd, but new this year to the list of events is Frankfort's Strongest Man Contest. Ryan Minney, with Primal Training Studio, said it will feature a log clean and press, frame dead lift for max reps, atlas stone over bar, max effort grip, and the yoke walk.
"The most impressive event that's we'll be doing is the log clean and press. It's basically a ten-inch timber with handles in it that will weigh all the way up to, depending on your weight class, up to 275 pounds, and the athletes will be cleaning and pressing that for reps in a minute," said Minney.
The competition will get underway on the Sunday of the festival, and it will be divided into different classes for teens, women, and men, which will be further broken down into weight groups.
