A 91-year-old woman accuses son of elder abuse
A Chillicothe man has been arrested on allegations he abused his elderly mother. Officers was dispatched to a Linn Street address where the resident, 91-year-old Annabelle Gullette was found to be crying and upset.
Annabelle told police that her son Daniel Gullette came into her room early Thursday and dragged her out of bed by her arm. She says she fell to the floor but was able to get to her feet. She said Daniel was "screaming" at her before and during the incident talking "out of his head" and not making any sense.
Annabelle told officers she later returned to her room and laid back down in bed. That is when Daniel again came in and dragged her out of bed by her arm and attempted to drag her into the living room. She says he had grabbed her by the throat and threatened her, the night before.
Officers saw numerous bruises on Annabelle's right wrist, which were photographed.
Daniel Gullette denied causing any harm to his mother and stated she got out of bed on her own and even attempted to throw a pan at him. Police officers saw that Annabelle uses a walker and did not believe she would be capable of throwing anything.
Daniel was placed under arrest charging Domestic Violence.
