Officials say the woman had contact with swine at the Ross County Fair.
The state's first-known swine flu (H3N2v) associated death, which has been confirmed by the Ohio Department of Health, has a local tie. Officials confirmed a 61-year-old Madison County woman, who had direct contact with swine at the Ross County Fair before becoming ill, died earlier this week.
Officials said she had multiple underlying medical conditions, but the influenza virus may have contributed to her passing.
