Council moved forward with their public hospital
Along with some legislation finalizing the pension changes for the police and fire chiefs, and some financial and legislative tweaking, council voted to help usher Berger Health System into a new era.
With voters rejecting the bid to make Berger a private nonprofit in 2009, the city and county have been working with Berger to take advantage of recent changes in state law for the public hospital system.
Service chair Todd Brady saw council ratify the city's part of the revised oversight, saying that it protected the city but gave Berger more financial freedom.
Pickaway County commissioners should pass their half next Tuesday.
Afterward, council went into executive session for contract negotiations on health care.
