A choice has been made to fill Napoleon Cross's vacant seat in Chillicothe Council.
The Ross County Democrat central committee unanimously chose Beth Neal Thursday to fill out the term of Napoleon Cross, who had left late August to become a high school principal in his native Magnolia, Arkansas.
Beth Neal lost her campaign for Chillicothe's first ward in 2007, but was complimented by Republican Chair Diane Carnes for a quality campaign. Beth Neal is married to former local Clear Channel radio voice "The Real Bob Neal."
A selection committee met over three days this week to make three or four recommendations from seven applicants, said member Dustin Proehl. He said they were all unique, excellent, diverse...and a such close call that the committee wasn't 100% on who to choose from.
Proehl added that these volunteers might be called on for future campaigns.
