The mentoring shelter for women is NOT shutting down
The Chillicothe faith-based women's mentoring shelter known as Daughters of Ruth is undergoing a retooling.
Organization member Dan Degarmo says even though their doors are closed, they are not shutting down, but undergoing a restructuring process and have a commitment to the Daughters of Ruth. They hope to get it reopened to serving the area's needy women by the first of January.
Degarmo says he is "excited about the organization's future" and they are also still following up among the 39 women and 34 children they served in the past year.
Individuals, groups or businesses wanting to contribute to Daughters of Ruth can do so by sending their tax-free gift to Daughters of Ruth P.O. Box 101 Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
