3 year contract with Village Departments
Waverly Council met Tuesday night and voted to upgrade their phone lines.
Council passed an Ordinance to enter into a 3 year Contract with Time Warner Cable to upgrade the phone system for all the Villages departments.
Waverly Mayor Greg Kempton said "We have 22 phone lines coming in and currently if you dial the main line for the Auditors Office or the Mayors Office, someones on that one line, you get a busy signal immediately, so what we will be able to do is through a secure sight, we can go on and select which lines we automatically want to rout to and everything, so the calls do get through. Worst case if all the lines are busy when your calling in, you will drop to our voice mail system and you can leave a message and we can return the call".
The Villages current phone bill runs between $1,240 to $1,400 monthly, with the upgraded system that bill will drop between $850 to $900 a month.
Mayor Greg Kempton said "We will be saving $250 to $300 a month from what we pay now and we will have the added flexibility that we have needed for quite some time".
