The pastor is giving the subject a chance to fix the vandalism and avoid being charged.

A blue swastika was painted on the shelter house of a Ross County church, Saturday morning. Pastor Phil Rutherford, of Christian Life Tabernacle Church on Egypt Pike, said video surveillance captured the incident, so it's just a matter of time before the identity of the person is determined. In addition to the subject's vehicle, footage shows the person taking a picture of the painted swastika using a cell phone camera.

"So, the question is: how would I know that if we didn't have video?"

But before pursuing charges, the pastor is asking the person responsible to come forward by Tuesday to make things right and fix the door.

"If they do, then I won't press charges," he said. "If they don't, then we're going to turn it over to the Sheriff's Department."

In addition, he said a reward is being offered for tips that lead to the subject's arrest and conviction. Tips can be submitted to Southern Ohio Crimestoppers at 773-TIPS.
