Officials with Adena say Austin Matthew is the child of Tiffaney and Joshua Diles.
A special delivery arrived at Adena Medical Center at a special time and date, Wednesday. At 12:12 a.m., Tiffaney and Joshua Diles, of Chillicothe, welcomed their 8-pound 6-ounce son Austin Matthew, who was born on this last day of the century when all three numerals in a date are the same.
With a December 14 due date, officials with Adena said the parents arrived at the hospital shortly before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, and they didn’t think about having a 12/12/12 baby until about 8 p.m that night.
According to Joshua, "Tiffaney said, ‘It would be cool if he held off until about midnight to be born on 12/12/12; it would be an easy birthday to remember,’ and then next thing we knew it was 12 a.m."
Once they realized they had a healthy baby boy, along with the significance of Austin being born at 12:12 a.m. on 12/12/12, they and their labor team were elated.
"The nurses went crazy," said Tiffaney. "At that point, I wasn’t thinking about that; I just wanted to get it done."
Austin is the couple’s first child.
