Ted Strickland says he will not run for governor in 2014

(AP)  Former Governor Ted Strickland says he won't run next year for his old job. Republican Governor John Kasich unseated Strickland in 2010.

In a statement issued by Strickland, the Democrat said he was stand by his record as the governor, but won't seek a return to that office.

Strickland's decision leaves Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald and Youngstown congressman Tim Ryan among the top potential Democratic candidates.
