Authorities say he was flown to a Columbus hospital.
Authorities say a 12-year-old boy was injured in a pellet gun situation, Monday afternoon.
Ross County Sheriff George Lavender said, Monday, that a preliminary investigation led authorities to believe that the boy was shooting a pellet gun when a pellet ricocheted back and hit him in the head, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.
However, on Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office released another statement that indicated authorities are continuing to gather information and conduct interviews on the matter.
Authorities say the incident occurred at 306 East Main Street, in Bainbridge, at around 4:40pm.
The boy was flown to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, where he remains, said Sheriff Lavender.
