Chillicothe City Schools seek a 6.9 mil property tax increase this May
The Chillicothe Education Association, which represents teachers in the Chillicothe City School system are supporting the proposed 6.9 mil levy coming this May.
CEA President Ben Jenkins says while past budget cuts have totalled a few million dollars, more cuts will be needed even if the levy passes. Jenkins says their union membership went along with previous cuts to delay the need for a tax levy increase.
Jenkins says while the levy is now needed, his membership was glad the district did not go to taxpayers before budget cuts were made over the last few years.
