Three Vehicle Crash In Fayette Co. Injures Three

The crash occurred at 5:26 p.m. on US 62 just north of Washington-Waterloo Road in Union Township.

Three people were injured when three vehicles collided on U.S. Route 62 in Fayette County late Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Sabrina S. Kelly, of Columbus, was traveling north on the route when she traveled left of center. Kelly's vehicle, sideswiped a southbound vehicle operated by 40-year-old Brandy R. Stone of Mt Sterling. Kelly's vehicle then collided head-on with a third vehicle being driven by 40-year-old Amy L. Joseph of Washington CH.

Kelly and Joseph were extricated from their vehicles by rescue workers and treated at the scene by members of Fayette County E.M.S. before being airlifted to Columbus area hospitals with serious injuries. Stone was transported from the scene by Fayette County E.M.S. to Fayette County Memorial Hospital.

US 62 Northeast remained closed for several hours while members of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit conducted their investigation of the crash. The roadway re-opened approximately 8:15 p.m.
