Ross County initiated te program over a decade ago

Officials in Ross County say they were the first to implement a search-and-rescue program for people who have medical conditions that cause them to wander. Deputy Dave Weber says they are state coordinators.

Through Project Lifesaver, individuals are provided (free-of-charge) tracking device bracelets that are to be worn at all times. Deputy Matt Large says this also give peace of mind to the caregivers.

The cost about $300 each and require replacement batteries, which are funded through donations. To learn more about Project Lifesaver, call 773-1186.
