The online sale is on GovDeals
The Ross County Commissioners are now using an Internet auction site to sell the county's surplus property. Commissioner Steve Neal says you can log onto www.rosscountycommissioners.com and click on "GovDeals" to place a bid.
"Really with this kind of system, we believe we'll maximize the dollars we get out of these items because anyone in the world can bid on these items," said Neal.
Ten items, which include old cruisers, a van, safe, and desks, are up for grabs, and the commissioners plan on starting a new auction each month.
The online service does not cost the county anything, but the buyers will have to pay an additional 12.5% fee that's made up of site's commission and transaction fees.
Once payment is received, the buyers can arrange to pickup their items from the county.
