A man home on leave from the military was taking target practice in the late night hours

The Ross County Sheriff has gotten to the bottom of reports of gunshots being fired over the last two nights in the Frankfort area, from what sounded like an automatic rifle.

Gunshots were heard between 1am-1:30am Monday and 9:30pm and 10pm Monday.

Sheriff George Lavender says it turns out, that a local man home on military leave, was simply taking target practice. The sheriff told the man he would not be able to continue his target practice that late at night, due to disturbing the peace.
