The Chillicothe woman believes the people who stopped to help her took her cash and ID.
A Chillicothe woman who was involved in a crash earlier this week believes she was robbed by the people who stopped to help her. 26-year-old Micah Neeley said she was driving to town to pay her rent, Tuesday, when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into an embankment on the 4200-block of Blain Highway.
Neeley was knocked unconcious after hitting her head on the windshield but says she woke up to find two men helping her.
"The only thing I really remember is waking up and seeing some guys run towards me, trying to help me, wanting me to pop my hood, so they could try to disconnect my battery because my horn was going off," said Neeley.
She said that the contents of her pocket, $1,200 in cash, credit cards, and her driver's license, which were banded together, were all gone before she got into the squad, and that the men had left before the squad arrived.
Neeley, who was diagnosed with a concussion, said she didn't know her property was missing until she was asked for her ID at the hospital. She said her vehicle, the crash site, and the squad were all checked, but her stuff was no where to be found.
She described the subjects as a blond man in his late 20s and a man with black hair in his 30s, and she's asking anyone with information to contact the Highway Patrol.
"I understand the likelihood of ever finding it is slim to none, but I think it's kind of cruel that someone could actually take advantage of a situation like that -- to stop and help somebody who's hurt in an accident and then actually steal everything they had."
