Dimitrious Burgin was cited for possession of marijuana, Wednesday.
A man was cited for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in Ross County, Wednesday night. According to the Ross County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle was stopped in the 1700-block of Western Avenue at 11:30pm for not having a license plate light.
Authorities say there were two people in the vehicle: the driver and a front-seat passenger, 19-year-old Dimitrious Burgin, who also was the vehicle's registered owner.
Authorities say they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and that Burgin would not give them permission to search the vehicle, so the canine unit was called in, which alerted to the vehicle.
Deputies say they found a bag of marijuana under the front-passenger seat and $348 in cash in Burgin's pocket. Officials say Burgin reported that he was unemployed and that the cash came from an income tax return.
Burgin was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.
The cash and marijuana were taken in as evidence.
