Thousands are waiting for donated organs and Lifeline of Ohio is helping.
Many people are registered as organ donors, but others may not fully understand the facts behind organ donation. Kaitlyn Thompson of Lifeline of Ohio talked says it's the local organ procurement organization.
Organ donation is an option that will inevitably save someone's life. Thompson says more than 117,000 people are waiting for a transplant right now, and that even one organ donor can save several lives.
Thompson considers all organ donors to be heroes and encourages those interested to make the decision and register.
Anyone of any age can become an organ donor, either by going to their local BMV or registering online at LifeLineOfOhio.org. For any questions, Thompson encourages listeners to contact Lifeline of Ohio at 1-800-525-5667.
