The issue of donating city water for the pool was discussed
After breezing through their legislation, council slowed down greatly on their 12th...an ordinance to donate city water to the city pool and a splash pool, this season.
After concerns that the there was no money to open either of the two pools in Ted Lewis Park, public donations made that more likely. Stainless steel recycled from the larger pool added to the funds.
Council members reworked the ordinance it to exclude the splash pool in the new Mary Virginia Crites Hanan [han-in] Park, which was already covered in the general budget. But the estimated cost for the pool water was under question...and so was even the need for the ordinance.
Mayor Don McIlroy and council members Mike Logan and Todd Brady all disagreed on need, costs, and timing...but council president David Crawford finally had the ordinance amended, then sent it back to committee to be clarified...and to be returned to council members before the next session.
