The general public will be offered one chance per month this summer to swim at the Pike County Swim Club free of charge.
Due to financial constraints, many municipalities are facing tough issues when it comes to opening their public swimming pools for the summer months and the Village of Waverly is no different. However, after Tuesday night's village council meeting, Pike Countyresidents will have a place to cool down for the summer season.
After paying off $3500 of their remaining balance for last year's water, the Pike County Swim Club still needed $2000 more to open for the 2013 season.
Council members decided that the village would waive the $2000 balance provided the club offer the public a free swim day every second Sunday of the month for June, July, and August of this year.
The first free community day will take place Sunday, June 9th.
