$22,000 accepted the day the equipment arrives
Council processed the legislation on first reading Tuesday night, accepting and appropriating a $22,000 grant to buy playground equipment for Western View Park.
The park is atop Carlisle Hill, by the Western View Apartments.
Safety Services Director Mike Green says the city hopes the ribbon cutting will be around June 15th, with assistance from the city engineering department and local AFSCME union.
The grant is from "The Research Institute" at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, dedicated to fill the need for safe places for kids to play. The equipment actually arrived the very day of council's approval.
Site work is already in progress.
