Chillicothe budgeted $15,000 for this year's show
There isn't as much pressure to raise private donations to pay for Chillicothe's July 4th Fireworks.
Unlike the last decade where private donations paid for the show, this year's show is budgeted by the city at a cost of $15,000. While that is the case, Councilmember Pat Patrick says the money was budgeted with the understanding that donations would replaced the funds.
Mayor Jack Everson says they have gone with a different company, saying last year's performance lacked quality control as two unexploded shells were found after the event and a big part of the intended "finale" went-off several minutes after the show ended.
