Since introduced by the Ross County Commissioners, the card has helped Ross County residents save thousands on prescription drugs.
Since the Ross County Commissioners launched the Prescription Discount Card program in July of last year, Ross County residents who have used the discount card have saved nearly $6,000 on prescriptions.
Through a partnership with the National Association of Counties (NACo), the free Prescription Discount Card program provides area residents with a card that offers an average of 24 percent (24%) savings off the retail price of prescription medications.
The card can be used by those who do not have insurance or by those who have prescriptions not covered by insurance regardless of age, income or existing health benefits. The card can also be used on some pet medications.
The discount cards can be printed from the Internet at www.caremark.com/naco or are available at the County Commissioners’ Office at the courthouse.
