The 138-kV substation would be placed on Biers Run Road.
AEP Ohio is proposing to build a new substation on Biers Run Road in Ross County.
"The purpose of the project is to add another 138 source to our transmission system in the area, which will help reinforce our transmission facilities in the Southern Ohio area," said AEP Spokesperson Vikki Michalski.
Michalski said The Ohio Power Siting Board is holding an evidentiary meeting regarding the proposal, which will take place at 10am, June 25th, at the PUCO Office in Columbus. The meeting is open to the public but it is not a public forum.
According to AEP, company studies indicate that without this reinforcement plan, the performance of the company’s transmission system will be inadequate to provide the level of service that its customers expect.
