Junior Fair Board members say their green efforts continue and a change has been made to the annual dance.
Over the past year, the Ross County Junior Fair Board has been working with the Senior Fair Board to prepare for the August 3rd-10th fair. Levi McFadden, a Junior Fair Board member, said one of the concepts they have worked hard to develop is their green initiative.
"If you are at the fair, please look for the black and green containers," he said. "They're our recycling bins, and you can throw in all of your paper, plastic, and your cans."
Last year's fair week campaign raked in 570 pounds of recycled materials, according to McFadden.
The Junior Fair Board has also revamped its annual dance. Junior Fair Board President Leah Uhrig said it's now a Family Fun Dance, which will be for kids of all ages.
"We're going to be doing square dancing and line dancing, things like that, so it'll be a really fun, family-oriented event," said Uhrig. "People who don't know line dances should come because we're going to be there teaching them and doing them together."
Admission to the dance is $5, and it'll take place in the Junior Fair Building on August 10th, from 7pm to 10pm.
