John Harbert, owner of Harbert Barber Shop, passed away unexpectedly on Monday.
A long time Waverly business owner has passed away.
John Gary Harbert died unexpectedly on Monday, August 5th at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Harbert, along with his son, Billy owned and operated Harbert Barber Shop in Waverly. Harbert was 72 years old.
John retired with 12 years of service as a Pike County Commissioner and served in numerous committees and organizations, including the Ohio Valley RC&D, and the Senior Counsel Advisory Committee. He was also a member of the Ohio County Commissioner Association, Pike County Farm Bureau, Waverly Senior Citizens Board, and he was on the Pike Community Hospital Board of Trustees for ten years.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly. Friends may call on Saturday from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home
