The accused shooter is in jail with the victim briefly in the hospital after the fight near 4th and Ewing.
The Chillicothe Police department reports that at 9:40pm officers were dispatched to East 4th and Ewing Streets in reference to a large fight, reportedly with shots fired. Officers learned about numerous people who had been involved in an altercation in front of 304 East 4th Street.
The police say, during the altercation, a victim was shot in the head by 22-year-old Frankfort resident Malcolm M. Turner, who was on the front porch of that address.
The unidentified victim was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center by squad, where he was treated and released.
Detectives arrested Turner for one count of felonious assault. He is incarcerated until his appearance in the Chillicothe Municipal Court Monday.
No further information is being released as the investigation continues.
