Schools are urged to file district safety plans with the state
Ohio's attorney general says a school is the safest place your child can be, but he wants to see more done to make them safer.
After the shootings at Chardon High School and Sandy Hook Elementary, Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine said they began reviewing the number of schools in Ohio that had filed a mandatory safety plan with the state.
He says they are working to improve that. Dewine also says more than seven thousand school employees have taken active shooter training courses. They'll continue offering the class as long as there is demand for it.
