Ross County and Chillicothe tactical teams removed the man from a Pleasant Valley Road home, Wednesday.
Authorities say they arrested a man who is a person of interest in property crimes that have taken place within Ross County. Sgt. Mike Preston, of the Ross County Sheriff's Department, said investigators discovered that 46-year-old Thomas E. Lewis was at a home at 12635 Pleasant Valley Road at around 2pm: "We went to the residence, attempted to make contact with him, actually saw him inside the residence, (but) he would not come and talk to us."
Sgt. Preston said two people came out of the home and confirmed Lewis was inside. Authorities then obtained a search warrant.
"The Sheriff's Office Tactical Team, along with the Chillicothe Police Department Tactical Team, executed the warrant at about 4pm and was able to get him out of the residence without any incident," he said.
Col. TJ Hollis said the tactical teams were sent in as a precaution and that the community should not fear them as they are trained to handle these types of situations.
Lewis is being held in the Ross County on an unrelated Adult Parole Authority warrant, and authorities are still investigating.
