Officials with Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers say the call prompts residents to enter their account number and password under the guise of reactivation.
Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers are warning locals of a phone scam in which an automated message claims to be your bank and says your debit card needs to be reactivated. It then prompts you to enter your bank account number and password.
Pamela McMurray, with Crime Stoppers, said to hang up if you get this call and contact your bank immediately if you have fallen victim to this scam.
"I cannot tell you all the people that are stating this has happened to them today," said McMurray. "It's just a rage going around with all the banks - every one of them."
The calls appear to be coming from a four-digit number.
