A new program will teach inmates behavior that will be needed once they are released
The Chillicothe Correctional Institution's Reintegration Unit will moved out of its pilot program status. The unit's grand opening takes place Wednesday morning.
Warden Norm Robinson says it helps offenders learn how to develop positive social skills in order to reintegrate into society. Robinson says the inmates are required to complete 8-10 hours of meaningful activity per day, and the assignments build job skills and personal development.
The warden says there are 75 people in the program, with 200 more on the waiting list.
