Germs can make people sick if your food prep surfaces are not adequately cleaned and meats are not kept hot or cold
Although Thanksgiving is still a month away, it is not too early to start reading up for a safe holiday meal.
OSU Extension Educator Lisa Barlage is reminding to prepare for a plan that allows for sanitary conditions. For example, she says to thaw your turkeys in a refrigerator or in a sink with ice and cold water.
Barlage says you'll also want to wash produce that has been prewashed.
AND, if you are getting ready to use a new cast iron skillet to cook, be sure to season it. Barlage says it'll rust if you wash it with soap and water.
