Davies takes over for Marvin Jones who held the position since June 2002.
Randy Davies, a 24-year employee of Horizon Telcom, becomes the new president and chief executive officer of the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce on January 1st. Davies takes over for Marvin Jones who held the position since June 2002.
“Randy brings his background in communications and public relations to this position to look after and promote the interests of our 565 members. His connections in the community will be invaluable in promoting economic and community development,” said Dave Barney of WesBanco Bank and chairman of the chamber’s Board of Directors.
“Chillicothe and Ross County is a great place to live and work,” said Davies. “And I look forward to continuing with the strong commitment and dedication the chamber gives to the business and industry of this area.”
Davies was communications manager at Horizon handling marketing and public relations for Horizon’s 34-county territory, including working with chambers of commerce in many of the counties.
He previously worked for six years with WKKJ and WBEX as well as with a local cable TV station.
He currently is district governor-elect for Rotary International after having served as president of the First Capital Rotary Club. He is a board member of the Ross-Pike Educational Service Center and a former member of the Chillicothe City Schools Board of Education and Pickaway-Ross Career and Technology Center.
He also is a member of the board of the Child Protection Center and assisted with the formation of the Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers.
He is married and has three children. He is a lifelong resident of Ross County and graduated from Chillicothe High School.
