The Grand Jury returned 19 indictments; 4 were open.
In Friday's session of the Ross County Grand Jury, a Chillicothe man was indicted for assaulting another man outside of a bar. Deputies were called to Adena Regional Medical Center at 2am on November 19th, where a victim who was treated for a broken jaw and nose.
The victim said he was drinking at Accord's Pizza on Blain Highway and talking to the bartender, when 24-year-old Tony L. Wilson, who has a child with the bartender, became jealous. The victim said, once outside the bar, Wilson hit him in the face twice and kicked him.
If convicted of felonious assault, Wilson could spend 2-8 years in prison and face a $15,000 fine.
The Grand Jury also indicted a Columbus man for leading authorities on a high-speed chase. At 1:04am on December 12th, a trooper stopped a vehicle on US 23 for a lights violation, but as she was walking to the vehicle, the driver, 40-year-old Thomas A. Coverdale, allegedly drove northbound on US 23 and led authorities on a 5.4-mile chase that reached speeds up to 120 mph. Coverdale's vehicle was eventually disabled via stop-sticks.
Coverdale, who had a suspended license, was arrested, but now faces a third-degree felony of failure to comply, which carries a penalty of 1-5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Other indictments include:
23-year-old Jeremy A. Scott, of Chillicothe, for domestic violence.
30-year-old Joshua Thompson, of Kentucky, for improper handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and carrying concealed weapons.
