Suspect fled from police after being detained in the parking lot behind Madru Plumbing.

Guns were drawn and tazers fired, but a suspect remains at-large after police attempted to arrest the man for entering the previously gated and locked parking lot behind Madru Plumbing early Saturday morning.

According to police reports, an individual was seen by police entering through a previously locked gate behind Madru Plumbing. The officer made contact with the suspect and instructed him to show his hands. The suspect then appeared to drop a ballpeen hammer, and was ordered to the ground at gun point. It appeared the the suspect had shattered the window of a red Ford F-150 and had taken a GPS unit and a radar detector.

The suspect, later identified as Roger Knowlton, remained on the ground until back-up arrived, but then began yelling expletives at the officers. Knowlton then got to his feet and ran from the officers, then began climbing a fence. One of the officers ordered him down from the fence. When Knowlton refused, the officer fired his tazer, but thick clothing made the tazer ineffective. He managed to climb over the fence before officers could apprehend him.

Knowlton remains at large. He was described as Caucasian with short brown hair, wearing an orange and black camo hooded jacket, blue jeans, black gloves, and a dark toboggan. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Roger Knowlton, please contact the Chillicothe Police Department at 773-1191.
