Money and Health Care were hot topics

Waverly Council held a special budget meeting before their regular session with the departments heads to try and amend the budget for 2012.

Waverly's  department heads had to present a list of serious cuts to Council that would save more money in the budget.

Mayor Kempton said "most likely this list of cuts will not pass as presented but it is there for discussion".

Council also changed their health care coverage provider for full time city employees. The new policy will take effect this year with Jackson Health Care and will potentially save the Village 87,000.

The empty Council seat was up for a vote again as Councilman Demlow made a nomination but it was rejected with a three way tie. If someone is not elected by Council at the next meeting on February 7th then Mayor Kempton will have to appoint someone to that seat.
