The Ross County Engnineer is preparing an agreement that would have energy companies paying to repair damaged roads caused by their work.
The efforts by energy companies to get gas and oil from shale rock beds far underground in eastern Ohio, may also see companies doing likewise in parts of Ross and Pickaway counties.
Ross County Engineer Charlie Ortman says he is working with the county commissioners and township trustees to make sure our roads are protected from damage that could be caused by heavy equipment from the companies drilling.
Ortman says he is hearing that some Ross County property owners have already been contacted by companies wanting to explore for such deposits.
